About Center for Peace and Development (CPD)

Center for Peace and Development (CPD) is an independent registered under “Directorate of Social Welfare” (Reg: No. DSW-1209. 29th January 2003) non-government and non-profit civil society organization based in Baluchistan. CPD was established in 2002 by a group of human rights and peace activists of Balochistan who were working with different national and international development organizations. They felt the need of an organization which promotes the peace, human rights education and sustainable development in the province. CPD was formally registered in January 2003. The organization initiated peace and human rights education with different youth groups in Quetta city. It has now become the largest rights-based organization of the province working in 17 districts of Balochistan.

CPD started its work from a one-room office and two volunteers in 2003, and it now has a head office and three regional offices with a total strength of 70 professional staff members. CPD has operational and management systems supported by a number of policies and procedures including HR policy, gender policy, and procedures, code of conduct, financial policy and procedures, hiring and termination policy, leave policy, procurement policy, etc. CPD is operating to achieve its goal, vision and mission by utilizing its human, financial and capital resources.

Centre for Peace and development Balochistan is Registered under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration & Control ordinance 1961 wide Registration No. DSW-1209 dated 29/1/2003.
